Harmony Sound Card (APEX Hard Disk)
STEP 1 – Connect the Harmony Sound Card to the AAE PC
The Harmony Soundcard must be connected to the PC running the Arrakis Automation Engine (AAE). This consists of a USB connection.
STEP 2 – Connect Power
Connect the power supply to the Harmony Sound Card. It is important that the Harmony Sound Card and the PC running the AAE be connected to the same power source or power strip. Press the Power button on the Harmony Sound Card.
STEP 3 – Start the AAE
Turn on the AAE PC and open the Arrakis Automation Engine software. Verify the Harmony Sound Card connection in the AAE software. Instructions on changing sound card assignments can be found in the AAE section of the training manual.
IMPORTANT: Backup Power
We highly recommend connecting all APEX hardware and related equipment to an appropriate backup power system (UPS). This helps protect against power spikes and outages that could take your station off the air.
IMPORTANT: Power Supply
Do NOT use an unauthorized power supply with the Harmony Sound Card. Using an incorrect power supply may cause permanent damage to the unit.
All trimpots are factory-adjusted for +4 dBu balanced input and +4 dBu balanced output. Do not adjust these trimpots unless specifically instructed by an Arrakis Support representative.
Increase volume: Turn clockwise
Decrease volume: Turn counterclockwise

Headphone Outputs
For convenience, the front of the Harmony Sound Card includes 1/4" headphone outputs. These outputs carry the same audio as the corresponding outputs on the rear of the unit, allowing you to quickly monitor and confirm that audio is passing through the system.
These headphone outputs are intended for basic monitoring and troubleshooting only. They should not be used for precise audio level calibration or adjustment.
